Department of Civil Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering.

Civil engineering branch is an ever growing stream of engineering with the huge amount of demand for new constructions with the increasing developments taking place in the world. This stream demands imaginative power, patience and most of all pure passion for creativity and is well suited for both boys and girls.

The Department of Civil Engineering has been in existence since the inception of MLMCE in 2002 and has emerged into a full-fledged department with the commencement of Civil Engineering branch in 2010. With the increasing demand for civil engineers, the student intake was doubled to 120 seats in 2013. In 2014, an M.Tech programme was also offered by the department with specialization in Structural Engineering and Construction Management.

The academic activities of the Department lays emphasis on deep understanding of fundamental concepts, development of creative ability to handle the challenges of Civil Engineering, and the analytical ability to solve problems which are interdisciplinary in nature. The department is committed to produce Civil Engineers which would usher India into a utopia of development. For the realization of this dream the students are prepared to perform, even in the most hostile environment.

In order to excel in the fast paced world, students must be mould not only in the technical aspects, but also in the interpersonal skills. For our engineers to emerge as assets to the country at large, rather than the institution and organization they belong, our department has put forth the following mission and vision.

  • • To provide a facilitating environment for nurturing the skills of students to contribute efficiently to the Industry & Research.
  • • To motivate and equip the faculty with constant knowledge upgradation for enhancing the teaching-learning process.


PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES(PEO)

  1. PEO 1: Graduates will be able to choose their career path, viz. employment, research and higher studies with knowledge gained in mathematics, science and civil engineering subjects.
  2. PEO 2: Graduates will build the confidence to involve independently in identifying, formulating, analyzing and designing sustainable and economical solutions to complex engineering problems with their expertise in modern tools and lifelong learning.
  3. PEO 3: Graduated engineers will have professional and ethical values, leadership, and communication skills to work in a multidisciplinary team and to relate the problems to a broader social context.
