Welcome to the Department of Computer Science and Engineering.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Mangalam College of Engineering, was formed in 2002. The first undergraduate batch rolled out in the year 2006. Currently the department has nearly 420 undergraduate students (BTech) and nearly 36 postgraduate (M.Tech)students .

The Department provides an outstanding research environment complemented by superior teaching for its students to flourish in. Graduates from the department are heavily recruited by both academia and industry. All over the world, ex-students of the Department occupy top positions in both academia and industry.

PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

  1. PEO 1: Graduate will have strong foundation and profound knowledge in computing and allied engineering and be able to analyze the requirements of real world problems, design and develop innovative engineering solutions and maintain it effectively in the profession.
  2. PEO 2:Graduate will adapt to technological advancements by engaging in higher studies, lifelong learning and research, there by contribute to computing profession.
  3. PEO 3: Graduate will foster team spirit, leadership, communication, ethics and social values, which will lead to apply the knowledge of societal impacts of computing technologies.

PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (PO)

Engineering Graduates will be able to:

  1. Engineering Knowledge: Apply the knowledge of Mathematics, Science, Engineering fundamentals, and Mechanical Engineering to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex Engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and Engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex Engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modeling to complex Engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  6. The Engineer and society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional Engineering practice.
  7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional Engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and the need for sustainable developments.
  8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the Engineering practice.
