Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that applies the principles of physics and materials science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and maintenance of mechanical systems. Many mechanical engineering companies have begun to incorporate various automated technologies and have changed the whole perception about Mechanical Engineering. Some of the examples are given below:

Mechanical Engineering is often rated as strongly male dominated field. But with the introduction of the above mentioned new fields in mechanical engineering bring more and more females attracted to take this course. Diversity, whether gender, ethnicity, or geography, brings more creativity and innovation to a team. When there is gender diversity on a team rather than a single gender, most likely one can see a tremendous improvement in the outcomes. Hope to see a drastic increase of female intake in mechanical engineering branch shortly.

As HOD, I wish to take this opportunity to assure you that I will try my best to maximize student participation in the department and will keep the administration transparent.

Objective of the Department

To impart high quality Technical Education and carry out leading edge research in the discipline of MECHANICAL ENGINEERING.

To instil awareness among students of the latest technologies, lifelong learning and critical thinking ability required for entrepreneurship, competitiveness and leadership .

To lead, motivate and inspire the students to evolve into a team and to work together towards a common vision.

To mould the students in such a manner that they are employable in India and Abroad.

To improve the quality of the faculty by arranging various faculty development programmes using industry and academic experts.
