Dr. Anju Sunny has received her PhD in Chemical Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Calicut and M.Tech in Chemical Process Control from Government Engineering College, Thrissur. She has completed her B.Tech in Instrumentation Engineering from Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam.

Dr. Anju has 3.6 years of teaching experience from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) and 5 years of research experience from National Institute of Technology, Calicut. Her teaching and research interest include Process Instrumentation, Process Simulation and Process Control.

Dr. Anju has granted Innovation Patent from Australian Government with Patent Number: 2021104764, and the title of invention is ‘A method for Lignin extraction for bioenergy applications’. She has presented papers in various national and international conferences, and published several papers in SCI indexed, peer-reviewed journals.

She has received International Travel Support (ITS) for participating in the International Conference on Gas, Oil and Petroleum Engineering (GOPE 2016) organized by United Scientific Group, Las Vegas, USA on November 2016 from Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB).

Dr. Anju has secured 1st prize in the Nation-wide quiz competition on Laws related to women, held on 19th December 2018, at the NIT Calicut, under the directives of National Commission for Women.

She has attended as member of final round evaluation panel of SRISHTI 2019, SRISHTI 2023 and SRISHTI 2024, The National level project exhibition and competition, held at Saintgits College of Engineering, Kottayam.

A trained engineering professional should have adequate theoretical and practical knowledge to cope up with the fast growing advancements in technology. Hence the objective of the department is to impart quality education and initiate research oriented activities.The department aims to inculcate innovative skills and boost the confidence levels of students for making them prepared to face challenges of tomorrow.

As HOD, I wish to take this opportunity to assure you that I will try my best to maximize student participation in the department and will keep the administration transparent.

To make engineering education more industry relevant by collaborating with the local industry and organizations.

To instill awareness among students of the need for life long learning and critical thinking required for entrepreneurship.

To lead, motivate and inspire the students to evolve into a team and to work together towards a common vision.

To make the students confident, self reliant, capable of seeking and achieving innovative technical endeavors using conceptual clarity, advanced logical and computational skills.

To encourage and support the existing faculty in enhancing their technical qualification and competencies through various Faculty Development Program.
