Dr. Vinodh P. Vijayan has been serving as the Principal of Mangalam College of Engineering since 2021. He completed his postdoctoral research at Universiti Putra Malaysia and earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Vels Institute of Science, Technology and Advanced Studies (VISTAS), Chennai. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Anna University.
Dr. Vijayan has extensive experience in teaching undergraduate and postgraduate programmes affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University and APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. He has served as an Adjunct Professor for postgraduate programmes at IGNOU and as a Visiting Faculty member for postgraduate programmes at BITS Pilani. Currently, he is an approved Research Supervisor at APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University. He also serves as Convener for several Doctoral Committee (DC) meetings and as an External Member for many DC meetings.
Dr. Vijayan is also serving as a Mentor for the AICTE IDEA Lab funded by AICTE in association with industry partners. He has experience serving as the Principal Investigator for the AICTE-funded MODROB Laboratory Project titled “Centre of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with IoT.”
He has presented and published numerous research papers at national and international conferences and has actively contributed to organizing academic and technical events. His publications have appeared in SCI, SCIE, and Scopus-indexed international journals and conference proceedings. He also has several published patents to his credit. In addition, he has served as an author and reviewer for various technical publications and Ph.D. theses.
His research interests include Soft Computing, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-inspired Computing, Computer Networks, Internet of Things, Processor Architecture, and Outcome-Based Education.
